Pinal County is offering free sand and sandbags to residents preparing for this week’s expected rain and potential flooding. Supplies are available at multiple maintenance yards across the county—bring your own shovel and fill up to 25 sandbags per household.

Casa Grande City Council approved a $900,000 partnership with Pinal County to investigate flooding hazards along the Santa Cruz Wash between Bianco and Peart roads.

Apache Junction has acquired 76.5 acres of State Trust land for the Weekes Wash Regional Multi-Use Detention Facility, a major flood control project protecting over 4,000 properties. Funded in part by the largest FEMA grant ever awarded in Arizona, the project aims to reduce flood risk, lower insurance costs, and enhance long-term community resilience.
