Presidential Pardon Corrects Political Prosecution of Arizona Electors — Miller Says Charges Were “Never About Justice, Only Power.”
News Source: Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller
FLORENCE, AZ – The Pinal County Attorney’s Office has issued a statement following the Presidential pardon granted to Drs. Michael and Kelli Ward, declaring the original charges against the Arizona electors a “politically motivated prosecution designed to intimidate conservatives and rewrite the law.”
County Attorney Brad Miller emphasized that Arizona statutes clearly outline the process for electors in the event of pending election challenges, including the lawful remedy of elector replacement — not criminal charges.
“There was never a legal basis for these charges,” stated County Attorney Miller. “Mayes has turned our courts into political theater.”
“This Was Never About Justice — It Was About Power”
Miller described the pardon as a historic correction of government overreach.
“This was never about justice — it was about power,” Miller said. “Arizonans follow the law. Washington Democrats try to rewrite it.”
Miller asserted that Arizona grand jurors were misled, and the case was used as a political weapon instead of a legitimate legal proceeding.
Miller Calls Out Attorney General Kris Mayes
Miller directed sharp criticism toward Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, noting her lack of prosecutorial experience.
“Kris Mayes spent her career as a regulator and a politician — not a prosecutor,” County Attorney Miller said.
He continued:
“I hope Attorney General Kris Mayes is personally sued for botching the Arizona electors case and that she is forced to repay the electors out of her own pocket. If you wage a political war against innocent citizens, you should be held accountable — not taxpayers.”
Miller concluded that the pardon restores the rule of law and protects Arizona citizens from politically motivated prosecution.
“This pardon stops the weaponization of prosecutions. No political viewpoints in Arizona or across America should be silenced. Drs. Michael and Kelli Ward are not criminals — they were electors acting under the law,” Miller stated. “I will always stand with citizens whose rights are targeted by government overreach. Arizona deserves prosecutors who follow the law — not politicians who twist it.”
