PINAL COUNTY – The Oversight Council on Driving or Operating Under the Influence Abatement, in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, has awarded a $25,000 grant to The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office for increased DUI enforcement.

Thanks to this funding, PCSO will increase DUI enforcement through overtime patrols, officer training, and targeted operations.

PCSO deputies arrested 554 drivers for DUI in 2024. This funding allows the Traffic Unit to continue aggressive enforcement. DUI Task Force deployments have covered holidays all year and will continue on weekends like Labor Day, Halloween and through the Christmas Holiday Season.

“Not only is driving under the influence dangerous, it’s also expensive,” Pinal County Sheriff Ross Teeple said. “Save a life. Save money, and stay out of my jail.”

PCSO remains committed to improving roadway safety through enforcement, education, and awareness campaigns—saving lives one stop at a time.
