The City of Maricopa will release the first draft of the Maricopa General Plan Update on December 8, 2025. This plan will guide city growth and development for the next 10 to 20 years. Now city officials want residents to review it and share feedback.
The city will host a community workshop on December 9, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The event takes place at the Maricopa Library & Cultural Center. Residents can explore the draft and ask questions during this open-house format. The draft will also be available online starting December 8th at MaricopaGP.com. Residents will have two months to submit feedback.
State law requires voters to ratify municipal general plans every ten years. Therefore, voters must ratify this update in 2026. The plan addresses community engagement, economic growth, and infrastructure improvements. It also focuses on balancing new development with preserving existing neighborhoods and natural resources.
