New Leadership Takes Effect January 1

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors voted to appoint Supervisor Jeff McClure as chairman for 2026. This change takes effect on January 1 and runs through December 31. Additionally, supervisors selected Jeff Serdy as the new vice chairman for the same term.

McClure and Serdy will lead the five-member board as it guides county operations and policy decisions. Their appointments follow the tenure of outgoing Chairman Stephen Miller.

Supervisors Honor Miller’s 13 Years of Service

During the December 10 meeting, McClure took time to thank Miller for his dedication to Pinal County. Miller has served on the board for 13 years and held the chairman position four times.

“We just want to say thank you for your service for the many years of leading the county along and bringing us forward from where we were many, many years ago,” McClure said.

In recognition of this service, he presented Miller with a commemorative plaque and gavel. Supervisor Mike Goodman noted that his own gavel from a previous chairmanship is now being used by the mayor of the newly incorporated town of San Tan Valley.

Board Votes Unanimously on Both Appointments

Goodman made the motion to appoint McClure as chairman. Supervisor Rich Vitiello seconded it, and the measure passed unanimously.

For the vice chairman position, Vitiello recommended Serdy and made the formal motion. McClure seconded, and the board again voted in favor without opposition.

Both appointments become official on January 1, 2026. Residents can expect the new leadership to preside over meetings starting with the first session of the new year.
