APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – The City of Apache Junction has been recognized as a JustServe City, an honor that celebrates communities demonstrating exceptional commitment to volunteerism. The designation was presented during the Oct. 7 City Council meeting, making Apache Junction one of only eight cities in Arizona to receive this distinction.

Other Arizona communities with this designation include Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, and Prescott. Apache Junction will also be recognized at the National League of Cities City Summit this November.

JustServe is a free online platform connecting residents with local volunteer opportunities offered by nonprofit, community, and governmental organizations. Nearly a dozen organizations in Apache Junction use the platform to post projects and recruit volunteers.

Apache Junction earned the designation for its dedication to partnering with community and nonprofit organizations to deliver forward-thinking services and enhance residents’ quality of life. The city’s Public WorksParks & RecreationLibrary, and Police Departments regularly engage volunteers of all ages and interests.

During the 2024–2025 fiscal year, the city recorded 2,131 volunteers contributing more than 18,800 hours of service, a year-over-year increase of more than 1,000 hours.

The city is also home to several vital nonprofit organizations providing free programs and services, including food delivery and distribution, clothing donation drives, and neighborhood clean-up efforts for those in need.
