The Apache Junction Police Department has adopted a section of Superstition Boulevard/State Route 88 (a.k.a. N Apache Trail) in memory of fallen Officer Gabriel Facio. The memorial stretch is located just east of the police station, past the roundabout.

Under the adoption arrangement, AJPD personnel will be responsible for maintaining and keeping the designated roadway section clean as an ongoing tribute to Officer Facio’s service.

“We’re committed to keeping this street clean and honoring his legacy through continued service to our community,” the department stated.

The department expressed gratitude to Apache Junction Public Works for their assistance in facilitating the roadway adoption setup.

The memorial roadway serves as a lasting tribute to Officer Facio while allowing the department to honor his memory through continued community service.
