GPD Requests Public Assistance for Homicide Investigation

The Gila River Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance as we investigate the shooting death of 39-year-old Mark Carrillo, a Native American male and resident of District 6.

On June 25, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Mark Carrillo was found shot and killed in the front yard of a residence near Beltline Road and Gila Crossing. Investigators believe the shooting occurred during the late-night hours of Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

Carrillo was known to frequently walk in the area and was often seen without a shirt. We are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area during the night of June 24—or anyone who may have information about this case—to come forward.
