The Town of Florence will hold its Primary Election on August 4, 2026. At that election, three Town Councilmembers will be elected to four-year terms, and one Town Councilmember will be elected to a two-year term. The Council seats currently held by Vice-Mayor Cathy Adam, Councilmember Arthur “Snake” Neal, Councilmember Nicole Buccellato, and Councilmember Jose Maldonado are set to expire in 2026.

Residents interested in running for public office are encouraged to pick up a prospective candidate packet, which includes required forms and nominating petitions. Candidate packets are available now through the Town Clerk’s Office at Town Hall, located at 755 N. Main Street, Florence, Arizona, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Interested candidates must file a Statement of Interest before receiving nominating petitions. Candidates are required to collect no fewer than 169 and no more than 338 valid signatures, a process that can take time. For this reason, prospective candidates are encouraged to begin early rather than waiting until close to the filing deadline.

All completed candidacy forms and petitions must be submitted in person to the Town Clerk’s Office. Electronic submissions are not permitted.

The official candidate filing period opens March 7, 2026, and closes April 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., which is also the final deadline for submitting completed packets.
