Queen Creek Police Department responded to a call regarding a suicidal man with a firearm in the 22900 block of E Rosa Road on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at approximately 1:50 p.m. The man was not located at the home.
He was later found near members of the public in the vicinity of the 20400 block of Chandler Heights. During contact with officers, an officer-involved shooting occurred, and the man was struck. Despite lifesaving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A handgun was recovered.
No officers were injured in the incident. The shooting is being investigated by Mesa Police Department as part of the East Valley Critical Incident Response Team (EVCIRT).
QCPD stated there is no known threat or danger to the community and asked the public to avoid the area during the active investigation.
